County Housing has a waitlist for individuals and families who are seeking housing assistance. There are two waitlists—one for the Public Housing program and another for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. Interested individuals and families can join the waitlist when it opens and their applications will be reviewed when vouchers or units become available.
The opening of the waitlist for either the Public Housing program and HCV program depends on various factors, including funding availability, program capacity, and the volume of applicants on our current waitlist. For that reason, we do not have an exact date when our waitlist will reopen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to check out our affordable housing properties page to see which properties are currently accepting applications.
When the waitlist reopens for public housing and/or the HCV program, we will post here on our website, through social media channels and partner agencies, and in the newspaper 30 days in advance. You can also register below to receive an email when either waitlist reopens.

Before applying, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria for our programs. Eligibility typically includes factors such as income, family size, and U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status.
You can apply online through the RentCafe portal. Follow the instructions carefully and provide accurate information. Incomplete or inaccurate information may delay the process.
Once your application is submitted, you will be placed on the appropriate waitlist. The waiting time can vary based on factors like program availability and the number of applicants.
It is crucial to notify us of any changes in your contact information or household composition. Failure to do so may result in removal from the waitlist.

You can also print and mail the form.
If your application is selected from the waitlist, we will complete a final eligibility check and then you will receive instructions on how to secure your housing assistance.
